Three men from Liverpool charged with going equipped Date published: 15th November 2016 4.14pm

Three men have been charged with going equipped to steal following an incident in Runcorn.

Officers from Cheshire Police’s Task Force carried out a stop check on a vehicle on the Western Point Expressway, Runcorn. The vehicle contained a quantity of items believed to be intended for committing a burglary.

The driver of the vehicle, Stephen Jackson, aged 36, of Kirkburn Close was subsequently arrested and charged of going equipped to steal, and driving without a valid insurance.

The two passengers of the vehicle, Nicholas Chan, aged 31, of Pentworth Close and Dean Taylor, aged 30, of Stockton Wood Road were also arrested and charged with going equipped to steal.

All three men were remanded into custody, and appeared before North Cheshire Magistrates today (Tuesday 15 November). All pleaded not guilty and have been bailed to appear back before North Cheshire Magistrates on 14 February 2017 for trial.
