Two further arrests as part of Operation Impact Date published: 15th August 2016 11.59am

Officers from Cheshire Police have arrested a man and a woman as part of Operation Impact, taking the total number of arrests to 13.

A 45-year old man from Crewe was arrested yesterday, August 14, at Manchester Airport after returning to the UK. Meanwhile a 34-year-old woman was arrested early today, August 15, at an address on Parkers Road, Crewe.

The pair are both being held in police custody on suspicion of Conspiracy to Supply Class A drugs. As well as the two arrests officers also seized a Mercedes E220 under the proceeds of crime act.

Operation Impact targeted people involved organised crime and illegal drug and resulted in nine warrants being executed at addresses across the Crewe area on Wednesday 10 August.

As a result of the warrants 11 men were arrested on suspicion on of drugs offences. Following questioning nine were charged with Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, whilst two were bailed pending further enquiries.
