Two men charged following Runcorn assault Date published: 25th July 2017 4.55pm

Runcorn CID has charged two men following an assault in the Beechwood area.

Shortly before 10.30pm on Friday 21 July officers were called to reports of that a man had been assaulted at an address on Arndale, Runcorn.

Officers swiftly attended the scene and found that the victim, a 36-year-old local man, had sustained a laceration to his head; he was treated at the scene by paramedics, but did not attend a hospital.

After conducting a number of enquiries in the local area, officers arrested two men in relation to the incident.

Following questioning Jake O’Hare, 25, of The Glen, Runcorn, was charged with Assault by beating, Assault ABH and Criminal Damage. A second man, Malcolm O’Hare, 50, of Penfolds, Runcorn, was charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

The pair both appeared at North Cheshire Magistrates’ on Monday 21 July where Jake was remanded in custody and Malcolm was released on conditional bail.
They are next due to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 21 August.
