Two teenagers from Runcorn have been charged with murder following the death of an 18-year-old man in the town.

Eddie O’Rourke, from Runcorn, sustained a serious injury in an altercation outside the Royal British Legion on Castle Road in Halton Village on the night of Friday 7 September.

He was taken to hospital via ambulance but sadly died.

Three teenage boys from Runcorn – aged 17, 16 and 15 – were subsequently arrested in relation to the incident.

Two of them – the 17-year-old and the 15-year-old – have now been charged with murder.

They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Warrington Combined Court today, Tuesday 11 September.

The other teenager who was arrested on suspicion of murder – the 16-year-old – has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

None of the teenagers can be named for legal reasons.
