Update - Serious fire in Mow Cop Date published: 3rd September 2017 3.31am

Emergency Services have been working hard throughout the night and the serious fire in Mow Cop has now been extinguished.

The fire was reported shortly after 1.30am today, Sunday 3 September, and involved a number of outbuildings at an address off Mow Cop Road. The building was initially believed to be a business premises, however it has now been established it was a residential address.

Nobody was injured as a result of the fire. Nearby residents who were evacuated from their homes in the early hours were able to return to their properties shortly before 7am today.

A small cordon remains in place as a precautionary measure. Mow Cop Road remains closed in both directions between Chapel Street and The Hollow.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and fire investigation work is expected to start later today.

Update - 3.30am

Emergency Services are currently dealing with a serious fire in Mow Cop, Cheshire.

The fire in an outbuilding of a business property on Mow Cop Road, Mow Cop, was reported shortly after 1.30am today, Sunday 3 September.

Police, Fire and ambulance are all in attendance at the scene and a 200 metre cordon is currently in place. There are no reports of any injuries at the current time.

As a result of the incident approximately 15 nearby properties have been evacuated and Mow Cop road is closed in both directions.

Residents residing in the nearby area are advised to keep their windows and doors closed at the current time.
