A 40-year-old Winsford man appeared in court on 25 March to face a number of charges including attempted robbery at a local post office.
At 9.56am on Friday 24 March a man entered the Post Office on Swanlow Lane, Winsford wearing a balaclava. The man intimated that he was carrying a firearm in the bag he was holding and demanded money from the staff.
Staff refused and he fled from the scene.
Officers investigating the attempted robbery made an arrest, which led to further enquiries into a number of recent shoplifting incidents.
Daniel Lee Bostock, 40, from Cleveland Way in Winsford was charged with attempted robbery, having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence, and five counts of theft from a shop. The thefts took place between 19 and 23 March in the town. He appeared at North Cheshire Magistrates on 25 March 2017.
