Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Widnes.
Sometime between 5.10pm and 5.20pm on Friday 8 November an unknown man armed with a kitchen knife entered Booze N Food on Liverpool Road, Widnes.
The man approached the counter and demanded the store assisted handed over cash from the till and a quantity of tobacco.
After taking the money and cigarettes the man fled the store on foot travelling in the direction of Widnes town centre.
The offender is described as a man, he was wearing a black jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and had black fabric covering his face. He was carrying a black handled kitchen knife with a silver blade.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may assist their investigation.
Detective Constable Chris Kearney, of Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: “Thankfully the victim in this case was not injured during the incident.
“However, she has understandably been left shaken as a result of her ordeal and we are committed to doing all that we can to identify the offender and bring him to justice.
“The investigation is currently in the early stages and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.
“As part of our investigation we want to hear from anyone who was in the area and believes that they may have seen, or have dashcam footage of, the offender.
“We also want to speak to anyone who believes that they may know who the offender is or has any other information that may aid our investigation.”
