Man charged following serious Warrington assault

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Warrington have charged a man in connection with the incident.
Jordan Hughes was arrested on Saturday 7 March following a serious assault near to McDonalds on Folly Lane.
The 21-year-old has since been charged with possession of a knife in a public place and section 18 assault – grievous bodily harm with intent.
Hughes, of Calgarth Avenue, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court later today, Monday 9 March.
The victim in the case, a 24-year-old man from Wigan, sustained significant injuries and is currently recovering in hospital; his condition is described as stable.
