An investigation has been launched after a man died in a collision in Dunham-on-the-Hill, near Helsby.
The 49-year-old was driving a red Vauxhall car that collided with a heavy goods vehicle on the A56 Chester Road at around 2.50pm on Saturday 29 May.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene.
Sadly, the man from the Chester area was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the HGV, which was white and had a red trailer, is not believed to have been injured as a result of the collision.
He was spoken to at the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision has been launched.
Anyone with any information or dashcam footage that may aid the investigation is asked to call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 999726, or give the details via our website.
