Police investigating the death of a man who fell from a bridge in Runcorn have renewed their appeal for witnesses and video footage.
At around 4.55am on Sunday 15 August 2021 police were called to reports of an incident on the Queensway flyover.
Officers attended the scene and found at that 18-year-old Ryan Swales, from Widnes, had fallen from the bridge on to Station Road.
Ryan was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to Aintree Hospital.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, Ryan died a short time later.
Detective Sergeant Lianne Macfarlane, from Runcorn CID, said: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we are keen to hear from anyone with any information, which could assist with our investigation.
“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving on the Jubilee Bridge between 4.30am and 5am on Sunday 15 August and may have seen the man in the moments leading up to the incident.
“The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage, which could help.
“In particular, I’d like to hear from the person who was parked in the Top Locks car park, on Waterloo Road, and helped direct the ambulance to the scene.”
At this stage, Ryan’s death is not believed to be suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.
