Officers are appealing for witnesses and video footage after a man was taken ill following a collision in Chester.
At around 2.44pm on Tuesday 4 January 2022 police were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Cherry Grove Road and the A51, Tarvin Road, in Boughton.
The collision involved a grey Ford Fusion and a silver Ford Fiesta.
Police attended the scene and both of the drivers were out of the cars and engaging with officers; nobody required any medical attention at the time of the incident.
However, officers have since been made aware that the driver of one of the vehicles has since been taken ill. The 60-year-old from Winsford is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Inspector Steve Griffiths, head of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit, said: “At this stage it’s too early to say if the man’s injuries are linked to the collision. However, due to the man’s condition, we have launched an investigation into the incident.
“Therefore, as part of our ongoing enquiries we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they may have witnessed the incident.
“The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident.
“I’d ask anyone with any information, no matter how small, to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or on 101, quoting IML 1170405.
