Police in Widnes are appealing for information over a recent spate of thefts of motorbikes and anti-social behaviour in the area.
Multiple reports have been received of suspected stolen motorbikes causing ASB and criminal offences around the Widnes area.
Officers from Widnes LPU, the Drone Unit and Op scrambler were deployed, after a number of incidents were reported in quick succession. This has resulted in two hidden stolen motorbikes being recovered concealed in woodland.
Three males were detained as part of Op Scrambler have since been ruled out of the investigation.
A number of lines of enquiries are currently ongoing; this includes the review of multiple videos supplied to Widnes police by members of the public.
Chief Inspector of Widnes Local Policing Unit Caroline Mullen-Hurst said: “I am extremely happy with the efforts that Widnes officers are putting in, to bring these criminals to justice.
'The anti-social behaviour caused by the illegal use of off road and stolen motorbikes is a priority issue. I want to reassure the public that officers will take a robust approach with those causing such harm within your communities. "
“I am appealing for any information that the public have which can assist with our enquiries, in order to take the criminals, drugs and antisocial behaviour off the streets of Widnes.”
