Detectives in Warrington have released CCTV images of four males they would like to speak to in connection with a serious assault.
The assault occurred when a 53-year-old man was walking down a path in Sankey Valley Park near to Old Alder Lane, Burtonwood.
Four males stopped the man and were verbally abusive towards him.
The males, three of which were on bikes and one was on a scooter, then proceeded to punch him to the face and head.
The man fell to the floor and the group continued to hit and kick him to the face.
He was taken to Warrington Hospital by ambulance with injuries to his face and has since been discharged.
All of the males then rode away from the scene.
The assault occurred at around 4.50pm on 5 August.
The male on the scooter was wearing dark hooded jacket and trousers with a black covering over his face.
Another male was wearing dark coloured clothing, a light covering over his face and had his hood up. A third boy was wearing dark coloured clothing. The fourth male was described as white, wearing a dark two toned top with black on the chest and shoulder, his hood was up and he wore dark trousers and shoes.
Detective Constable Laura Pedley, of Warrington local policing unit, said: “Since the assault occurred, we have been conducting numerous enquiries including reviewing CCTV footage in the area.
“Following this we have identified four males who we would like to speak to in connection with the assault that took place.
“I want to take this opportunity to encourage them to come forward or for anyone who may know who they are to get in touch with us.
“I’d also ask for anyone who has information, CCTV or dash cam footage and not yet contacted police to please come forward.”
