Police are making a fresh appeal for information regarding a collision that left one dead, and another seriously injured.
Officers were called to a report of a collision off Holcroft Lane, Clucheth, at around 9:30pm on July 18, 2022.
Sadly, the rider of the bike, 17-year-old Ben Smith died at the scene
A 13-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries; they have since been discharged.
Enquiries in relation to the appeal remain ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone who may have been on Holcroft Lane between 9pm and 9:30pm on that evening.
In particular, officers are keen to hear from the owner of a red motorcycle, who was seen just prior to collision, and may be key to understanding the exact circumstances of the incident.
Sue, Ben’s mum, said:
“I am struggling to come to terms with the loss of my Son at such a young age, I know that this will not bring Ben back but any help from the rider or other witnesses will help me and the Police investigation into the collision”.
