A property which was reported to have been involved in anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity in Macclesfield has been shut down by officers.
A closure order for an address in Bridge Street, Macclesfield, was granted at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 23 June.
The order will run for three months, following concerns regarding anti-social behaviour, drug-related activity, and violence coming from the address.
The occupants have since been ordered to leave the property, with all windows and doors being boarded up for a period of three months.
Anyone who enters the address during that time will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.
Sergeant Matthew Bassirat of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit said:
“The behaviour of those occupying the address was totally unacceptable and I am glad we have been successful in being granted the closure order.
“I’d like to thank people in the local community for their support throughout and I hope they will be reassured by this order.
“I would urge anyone who has concerns about anti-social behaviour or drug-related activity in their community to get in touch.”
Anyone with concerns about anti-social or suspicious behaviour is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via the Cheshire Police website or call 101.
