Appeal for witnesses and footage following fatal collision in Mobberley

Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward following a fatal collision in Mobberley.

Shortly after 12.10pm on Thursday 12 December, police were called to reports of an incident in Mill Lane.

Officers attended and found the collision involved one vehicle, a silver Kia Sportage. After exiting the car, the driver, an 80-year-old man, and the passenger, an 80-year-old woman, are believed to have been struck by the vehicle.

The driver suffered serious injuries and sadly later died in hospital. The passenger remains in hospital with serious injuries at this time.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers would now like to ask anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch with them.

Inspector Steve Griffiths from Cheshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“This is a tragic incident that has happened so close to Christmas. It is vital we can piece together the events of last week to establish exactly what happened.

“We would like to ask any witnesses to come forward. We would also urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time to review their CCTV or dashcam footage for anything relevant.
