Detectives are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a serious assault in Warrington.
Shortly after 5pm on Wednesday 5 February, a 41-year-old man was walking in the St Elphins Close/ Farrell Street area of Warrington, when he was approached by a group of unknown men.
The men, who were all dressed in black, were then involving in an altercation with the victim, during which one of the men slashed the victim across the face.
The victim has since been taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Detective Constable Keri Spears of Warrington Reactive CID said:
“Enquiries in relation to this incident are in the early stages and we’re committed to doing all we can to establish what took place.
“As part of our investigation we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious.
“The same goes for anyone with any video footage which may aid the investigation.
“I’d urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact the team here at Warrington.”
