Following two attempted bike robberies and one robbery in Widnes over the weekend, officers are advising residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.
There have been reports of youths on electric bikes targeting those on electric or expensive looking bikes and stealing them.
On 8 February two Sur Ron bikes were stolen from two teenage girls at around 10.40pm in Queens Avenue.
Inspector Phil Brown said:
“We have been making several enquiries to find those responsible and have increased patrols in the area.
“I’d urge anyone who sees anything suspicious or anything that doesn’t look right to contact police. If you have any CCTV, doorbell footage or Dash Cam footage in the Queens Avenue area which may have captured a number of youths dressed in dark clothing on electric bikes we’d urge you to also contact police.
“We will not tolerate this type of intimidating and criminal behaviour and will take robust action.”
Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website quoting IML 2023433.
