Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage after a dog died and its owner sustained serious injuries following a fail to stop collision near Frodsham.
At around 1.50pm on Friday 1 December a 63-year-old man was walking his dog along Manley Road when the pair were struck from behind by vehicle, which failed to stop.
Sadly, the dog died as a result of the collision and its owner sustained two broken bones in his leg, which required surgery.
Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and officers are urging anyone with any information is asked to get in touch.
Police Constable Phil Brewster said: “This is an extremely distressing incident and we’re committed to doing all that we can to trace the person responsible.
“As part of the investigation we would like to hear from anyone with was in the area and believes they may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage from Manley Road around the time of the collision.
“We’re also keen to hear from residents on Manley Road with CCTV or video doorbell footage from around the time of the collision.
“The incident is believed to have occurred at 1.50pm on Manley Road, between the Simons Lane and Hazlehurst Road junctions. Therefore, I’d ask anyone who resides on Manley Road to check their cameras between 1.40pm and 2.10pm to see if they have any footage which may aid the investigation.”
