Detectives investigating a serious assault in Winsford have renewed their appeal for information.
At around 5.10pm on Sunday 14 January, police were called to reports that a man had sustained serious injuries at an address on Wharton Gardens, Winsford.
On arrival, officers found that a 20-year-old man had suffered stab wounds; he was taken to Royal Stoke Hospital for treatment. The man has since been discharged from hospital.
Seven people, all from the Winsford area, have since been arrested in relation to the incident. They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
As part of the investigation officers are now appealing to speak to anyone who helped the victim prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
Detective Constable Mitchell, of Northwich CID, said:
“I’d like to reassure the residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and were committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place.
“We’ve already spoken to a number of witnesses as part of our investigation, and I would like to thank the local community for the support provided.
“As part of ongoing enquiries, we’re also keen to speak to anyone who helped the victim with his injuries prior to the arrival of police and paramedics.
“I’d urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact the team here at Northwich, or alternatively if you don’t want to speak to an officer, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Anyone with any information can contact Cheshire Police at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, or call 101, quoting IML 1734663.
