Officers investigating a report of sexual assault in Runcorn have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.
At around 3.45am on Sunday 28 January, police received reports of an incident in Runcorn Old Town, near the junction of Leiria Way and High Street.
It was reported a woman had been sexually assaulted by an unknown man.
The man is described as having dark hair, was wearing a dark-coloured jumper, was of an average build, and spoke with an Irish accent.
Enquiries have been ongoing since the incident and as part of their investigation, officers have now released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.
DC Nathaniel Walkowiak said:
“If anyone recognises the man pictured, please get in touch with us, as we believe he may hold vital information.
“We would also like to appeal directly to the man pictured to contact us.
“The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident, or anyone who witnessed what happened.”
