Man in Widnes charged in-connection with assault and criminal damage

A 27-year-old man from Widnes has been charged with assault.
Ryan Abbott, from Andrew Close, was arrested on Monday 16 March.
He was subsequently charged with section 18 wounding with intent, affray, possession of a knife, a racially aggravated public order offence and five counts of criminal damage.
Abbott appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday 17 March. He has been remanded and is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 14 April.
The assault charge relates to an incident on Sunday 15 March at an address on Andrew Close in Widnes involving a 21-year-old woman sustaining serious injuries.
The remaining charges relate to damage to a number of cars and properties on Francis Close on Monday 16 March.
