A 42-year-old man has been charged after a man was found with serious injuries in Nantwich.
Stephen Symes, of Tailors View, Arnold Street was arrested shortly before 5am on Wednesday 29 July.
He has subsequently been charged with attempted murder.
The charge relates to an incident at an address on Tailors View, Arnold Street on Sunday 27 July.
A 39-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his head and was taken to hospital. He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Symes has been remanded and is due to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on Thursday 30 July.
A 50-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on conditional bail.
