A 33-year-old man from Widnes has been charged following a serious assault in the town.
Mark Collins, of Albert Road, was arrested in the Appleton area of Widnes at around 5pm on Wednesday 5 August.
He has subsequently been charged with wounding with intent.
The charge relates to an incident that occurred in Dean Street, Widnes, at around 10pm on Friday 31 July.
A local man in his 20s sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
He was taken to hospital in an ambulance and has since been discharged after receiving treatment.
Collins appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court, via a video link, on Thursday 6 August.
He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday 3 September.
