Three people charged by officers investigating dog thefts in Nantwich

Three people have been charged in connection with the theft of two dogs in Nantwich.
Malachy Doherty, 37, Mary Docherty, 28, and a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested at an address in Metcalfe Road, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, on the morning of Tuesday 30 March.
They have all since been charged with theft.
The charge relates to the theft of two black Labradors from outside a Marks & Spencer store in Beam Street, Nantwich.
The dogs, which were stolen shortly after 6pm on Saturday 27 March, have been recovered from the Tunstall area of Stoke-on-Trent and reunited with their owners.
Doherty, of McKinley Street, Tunstall; Docherty, of Metcalfe Road, Tunstall; and the 14-year-old boy have all been remanded in custody.
They appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 31 March.
All three of them were released on conditional bail and are set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 8 June.
