A 28-year-old man has been charged with three offences after a large quantity of what is believed to be class A drug cocaine was seized in Runcorn.
Leon Thomas Rix, of Browning Drive, Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port, was arrested shortly after 12.30pm on Wednesday 2 June.
He has subsequently been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and escaping from lawful custody.
The charges all relate to a car being stopped and searched on a slip road at Junction 12 of the M56 in Runcorn at around 12.30pm on Wednesday 2 June.
Rix appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 3 June.
He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 1 July.
