On Thursday 26 August 2021 officers from the Nantwich Beat Management team will be staging the annual 'Police Youth Fishing Competition' at Bay Moultons Border fisheries in Crewe.
This will be the 11th edition of an event that has grown and grown over the years and is now a permanent fixture in both the local Police and community calendar.
PC Matt Stonier said: “The event is a perfect opportunity for local officers to engage positively with young people in an informal setting. The competition was last staged in 2019 prior to the pandemic and we had in the region of 50 entrants take part which was fantastic.”
The event which is at Bay Moultons Border fisheries, Waybutt Lane, Crewe (CW2 5QA) is open to 10-16 year olds from across the area and is completely free of charge including refreshments, bait and prizes in various categories as well as a free raffle to ensure every entrant goes home with a gift.
The highlight of the day will be the presentation of the 'Phillip Martin Memorial Trophy' to the overall match winner.
PC Stonier added: “The day will again be supported by Nantwich Civic Hall and we hope that other local businesses will get behind the event as they have in previous years!”
Entrants must download the Application form and return it to either Nantwich Police station or via email to [email protected] by July 31 2021. We expect to be inundated with applications so places will be allocated on a first come first basis.
