Police in Runcorn will be continuing their crackdown on anti-social behaviour at the busway and Trident Retail Park this weekend.
A Dispersal Order will be in place from 6pm on Friday 18 February to 6pm on Sunday 20 February. This has been imposed under Section 34 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, for the Trident Retail Park and the busway. Dispersal orders make it an offence for anyone to return to a specific area for up to 48 hours.
Officers will also continue their patrols in the areas.
Chief Inspector Andy Blizard said: “I’d like to reassure residents and businesses that we have been working to reduce anti-social behaviour and have seen a drop in this behaviour over the past week or so. We had one report of youths on the busway, and to their credit, we didn’t need to issue any Dispersal Orders.
“We will continue with our police presence as half term approaches and we will continue to get the message across that anti-social behaviour is not acceptable.”
