Officers have charged a man with a number of offences following a domestic incident at an address in Runcorn.
At around 1.40am on Thursday 16 June police were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Charlton Close, Runcorn.
Officers attended the scene and a 30-year-old man was arrested at the property.
Kevin Craig McHugh has since been charged with assault, false imprisonment and two counts of intentional strangulation.
McHugh, of Charlton Close, Runcorn, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on Friday 17 June where he was remanded in custody; he is next set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday 15 July.
