Detectives investigating a series of car and key burglaries in Warrington have arrested a local man in relation to the incidents.
Over recent weeks officers have noticed an increase in the number of car and key burglaries, specifically in the Rixton and Glazebury area.
Following enquiries officers have today, Monday 11 September, arrested an 18-year-old man from Rixton in relation to the incidents.
The man was been arrested on suspicion of three counts of burglary with intent to steal. He has since been released on conditional bail until Monday 27 November.
Detective Sergeant Alex Reeves, of Warrington Proactive CID said: “Burglary is a particularly distressing crime and I hope that this morning’s arrest will provide some reassurance to the local community.
“While this suspect has been arrested, I would like to remind residents to ensure their homes and vehicles are always kept secure; specifically, all ground floor windows and doors.
“While it’s often tempting to leave windows open in the warmer weather, all of the recent incidents we’ve seen have taken place at night and the offenders have gained entry via insecure access points.”
