A man from Northwich has been charged with being concerned in the supply class A drugs while at a prison in Lancashire.
Samuel Watts was arrested on Thursday 21 November outside HMP Wymott, near Leyland, Lancashire.
The 33-year-old, who was previously residing in the Northwich area, has since been charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs (cocaine).
The charges relate to offences committed between 17 June 2024 and 30 August 2024, while Watts was residing at HMP Kirkham.
Watts has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday 22 November.
