Cheshire Police will be working alongside partner organisations and local retailers to help tackle business-related crime across the county.
As part of a national month of action, officers will be working with partner agencies to crack down on anti-social behaviour and shoplifting at businesses across Cheshire.
Throughout March, the Crime Prevention Team will help local officers deliver an array of activities and initiatives to local businesses and retailers, as well as tackling some of the most prolific offenders.
Patrols across the county will also be stepped up during the month of action, with the higher police presence aiming to deter any anti-social behaviour or shoplifting within Cheshire’s businesses.
Retailers are also being encouraged to get involved with the ShopKind campaign, which encourages positive behaviour in shops, acknowledges the important role of shopworkers and raise awareness about the scale and impact of violence and abuse against them.
The Crime Prevention Team, said:
“Collaboration between police and the business community is key in fostering a partnership approach when dealing with all aspects of business crime.
Police alone cannot effectively address all the issues relating to crime and safety but working together provides a wider problem-solving approach.
Businesses, their customers, and visitors will see an increased police presence and activity during March.
Crime prevention visits, joint operations with partners, together with the increased number of officers will demonstrate the importance of tackling crime to protect and safeguard staff in businesses and retail premises".
