A man has been arrested following a warrant in Northwich as part of an investigation into the theft of a trailer.
At around 6pm on Monday 20 January, police received a report that an articulated trailer had been stolen from an address in Leicester.
The caller reported that the vehicle was fitted with a tracker which showed the trailer’s last known location to be in the Northwich area.
The following day, on Tuesday 21 January, officers conducted a section 18 search at an address on Manchester Road, Northwich, where they recovered the stolen trailer, along with several other vehicles which have since been seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft. He has since been bailed while the investigation continues.
PC Kev Anderson said: “This was a great example of teamwork to swiftly arrest a suspect and locate a stolen trailer, which has since been returned to its owner.
“The effect this type of crime has on the victims and the local community should not be underestimated so we will continue to make every effort to find those responsible and hold them to account.”
