We aim to answer emergency calls as quickly as possible but levels of calls are making that really difficult. We are currently receiving record levels of calls and not all of them need an emergency response. This could mean that we don’t get to someone in danger in time.
Help us make sure those in most need receive urgent assistance by:
Amending your Android device settings to stop pocket dials. Go to “settings”, “safety and emergency” and then simply slide the SOS button to the off position.
Please note, these instructions may not work for those who did a software update from June 2023 onwards. Check with your phone manufacturer for your options.
If you do pocket dial 999 please answer any incoming calls to say you’re ok as it’s probably us ringing to make sure you’re safe.
