Cheshire Constabulary has been ranked number 30 in the 2024/25 Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List (IT50) which was officially revealed at the Inclusive Awards on November 28, 2024. Compiled by Inclusive Companies, the IT50 acknowledges and ranks organisations which are most consistent throughout the whole of their organisation and encompass all types of diversity.
Now in its ninth year, the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List is the definitive cross-industry index harnessing both best practice and innovation with the goal of driving inclusion for all. It comprises the 50 most inclusive companies in the UK as chosen by a dedicated panel of judges, based on each organisation’s performance across all strands of diversity - gender, disability, age, LGBTQ+, race, faith and religion.
Over the past 4 years, Cheshire Constabulary has demonstrated its commitment to Inclusion within the organisation and has been ranked in the top 30 in each of the last 4 years, which is a considerable achievement, when you look at some of the companies and organisations on the IT50 list.
In the ever-evolving world of Policing and demands placed on the organisation, the people and the wider community, the award is recognition and testament to Cheshire Constabulary wanting to and continuing to make a difference.
Paul Sesay, Founder and CEO of Inclusive Companies, says “Each year we receive 100s of entries from organisations who submit a huge amount of evidence in respect of their inclusive practices, covering a wide range of areas and topics”. “The IT50 List recognises employers whose culture ensures diversity and inclusion are embedded into everything they practice with the judges looking for organisations which show consistent activity and evidence of sustainable change.”

Nicola Bailey, Head of People Services at Cheshire Constabulary said;
“This has recognised our continuous dedication to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion. We have worked really hard to create a workforce that is representative of all the communities we serve.
“We are leading the way in the menopause area, for example, with processes and policies in place to accommodate reasonable adjustments for our officers and staff. We’re also continuously adapting our organisation to be neurodiversity and dyslexia friendly, with bespoke training for all colleagues.
“We are always striving to be an employer of choice for new and existing colleagues and creating a workplace where everyone can be their true authentic self."
The Inclusive Employers list includes UK-based organisations that promote inclusion across all protected characteristics and throughout each level of employment.
