On Thursday 18 August 2022 officers from the Nantwich Beat Management team will be staging the annual 'Police Youth Fishing Competition' at Bay Moultons Border fisheries in Crewe.
This will be the 12th edition of an event that has grown and grown over the years and is now a permanent fixture in both the local Police and community calendar.
PCSO Sharon Jones said: “The event is a perfect opportunity for local officers to engage positively with young people in an informal setting. We want to get a good mix of young people to come and have a go, even if you’ve never tried it before. It’s all about getting to know your community and having a bit of fun, hopefully in the sun.”
The event, which is at Bay Moultons Border fisheries, Waybutt Lane, Crewe (CW2 5QA) is open to 10-16 year olds from across the area and is completely free of charge with prizes in various categories. For those who need it, there is a limited amount of equipment available.
The highlight of the day will be the presentation of the 'Phillip Martin Memorial Trophy' to the overall match winner.
PCSO Jones added: “The day is supported by Nantwich Town council, the Angling Trust, The Crown Hotel, Morrisons and Chatwins. We’d like to thank them all for getting behind the event and showing their support.”
Entrants must download an application form from below and return it to either Nantwich Police station or via email to Sharon Jones by July 31 2022. We expect to be inundated with applications so places will be allocated on a first come first basis.
