What I most enjoy is the feeling of the unknown. You can’t predict what call you will be sent too. You have the ability to dynamically make decisions in a fast-paced environment to support both the victims but also provide reassurance to members of the public.
What do you find most rewarding from your role as a special constable?
The most rewarding part of my role is supporting others. No matter what the incident is I am able to contribute to supporting those in need and helping victims wherever possible. This also reflects to my fellow colleagues where I can continue to support them develop and continue in their role as a special constable.

Full training is provided by our learning and development team before you ‘hit the streets’. Confidence and teamwork skills are also key and we will continue to improve these as a team.

The role does require a commitment but if you have an interest in policing and want to make your communities safer then apply.
