Members of the public are asked to apply to attend a misconduct hearing.
Before being admitted to the hearing, you must go to reception at the force headquarters, or as otherwise directed in the published notice.
Once there you'll be asked to produce confirmation of your identity to show you are the person who has registered to attend.
Before entering or re-entering the hearing room, you and any bags you have, may be searched.
Sharp objects or blades are not permitted. We will seize any article found during a search which may cause harm to any person.
Upon completion of this process, you'll be provided with a visitor’s badge which must be worn until you leave the hearing, and must be returned to the reception desk when leaving the hearing.
Seating at the venue is limited and is allocated on a 'first come basis'.
You are asked to attend 15 minutes prior to the published start time. Access will not be permitted once the hearing is in session.
Those attending the hearing should conduct themselves in an appropriate manner, which should not disrupt the hearing. Individuals will be asked to leave if they do not act appropriately or disrupt the hearing.
If there is a fire alarm you should follow instructions by staff at the venue.
During the course of the hearing it may be necessary for an adjournment to take place. Those attending will be notified when the hearing is due to recommence.
There's a visitors' car park at the venue. You must use the main entrance and report to the security hut, where you'll be directed to the car park. You'll then be directed to reception, where you must register, before you're escorted to the hearing room.
Toilet facilities are available and the venue has disabled access.
Refreshments aren't provided and no food or drink will be allowed into the venue.
Smoking is not permitted inside the venue.
The taking of photographs and the use of film or sound recording equipment during the hearing is not allowed. Individuals will be asked to leave the hearing if acting against this.
Mobile phones and other electronic devices should be turned off. Individuals will be asked to leave the hearing if acting against this.
Accredited members of the press will be allowed to use electronic devices to assist with their professional activities provided this doesn't disrupt the hearing.
Members of the press will be allowed to use text based communications for the purpose of simultaneous reporting subject to any restrictions imposed by the person conducting or chairing the hearing.
