Hearing outcome for former Police Constable 30334 William Matthews

Whilst serving as a police officer with Cheshire Constabulary, between 1st May 2025 and 14th November 2025, (Former) Police Constable William Matthews sent and received messages on his personal mobile phone and undertook online activity which indicated familiarity and association to controlled drug use and recreational use of Nitrous Oxide gas.

The Accelerated Misconduct Hearing found the allegations proven and determined that (Former) Police Constable Matthews had a case to answer for Gross Misconduct, and had the officer not formally submitted his resignation on 3rd August 2026, he would have been dismissed without notice.
