Police are appealing for witnesses following a deliberate fire in a wheelie bin in Widnes.
Sometime between 9.10am and 9.45am on Monday 1 July a wheelie bin was set on fire under a canopy between two properties in Wright Crescent.
A young male alerted the occupant of one of the properties who then called the fire service.
The male is described as white, slim, wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.
DC Nathaniel Walkowiak said:
“The fire caused damage to the canopy and put the residents at real risk of harm. We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anyone hanging around or acting suspiciously between those times so we can find those responsible.”
