Man charged with attempted murder following collision in Doddleston

A man who was arrested following a serious collision in Doddleston, near Chester, has now been charged.

Paul Rudd was arrested during the early hours of Saturday 7 February, following a serious collision on Church Road, Doddleston, where a pedestrian was hit by a blue Kia Sportage.

Following questioning, Rudd has now been charged with one count of attempted murder.

The 58-year-old of Warren Hall Court, Mold Road, Broughton, has been remanded in police custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on Monday 9 February.

The pedestrian, a 43-year-old man from Wrexham, was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital where he remains at this time, his condition is currently described as stable.
