Ben Ruddock, of Kendal Drive, Ellesmere Port, was arrested in the Halewood area of Merseyside at around 1.35am on Thursday 2 May.
He was subsequently charged with murder.
Ruddock appeared at Crewe Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 7 May), where he was remanded to next appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 12 July.
The charges relate to the death of 34-year-old Lloyd Velasquez following an incident on Summertrees Road, Ellesmere Port, at around 8.20pm on Wednesday 1 May.
A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Ellesmere Port, were also arrested on suspicion of murder.
They have since been bailed pending enquiries.
Following the charges, officers have become aware of a video circulating online which shows Lloyd receiving first aid from emergency services and members of the public.
A number of Lloyd’s family members have also seen the video which has been deeply distressing for them. Therefore, we are asking members of the public to stop sharing the video on social media.
This continues to be an extremely difficult time for the family, and we ask that their privacy is respected.
