Two men have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences following reports of suspicious activity between the occupants of two cars in a Macclesfield car park.
At 11.16am on Monday 3 June officers attended a car park off Percyvale Street and blocked the entrance with a police vehicle before approaching the suspect cars. One driver fled from the scene but returned and was subsequently arrested, while a second man was removed from the second car and arrested.
Both men, aged 30 and 45 were taken to custody to be interviewed. Leon Crawford, 45, of Thistley Hey Road, Kirkby was charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and failing to attend court. He will appear at Chester Magistrates on Tuesday 4 June.
The 30-year-old man remains in custody on suspicion of driving while disqualified, no insurance, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, failing to provide a drug sample, assaulting an emergency worker and going equipped.
