Officers investigating a report of courier fraud in Cheshire have charged a man in relation to the incident.
Sharmarke Ahmed, of Brixton Road, London, was arrested on Tuesday 1 April.
The 34-year-old has since been charged with fraud by false representation.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 3 April.
The charge relates to reports of courier fraud in the Malpas area of Cheshire on Wednesday 5 March in which a courier pretended to be acting on behalf of police to cause loss to another.
Detective Inspector Ross Hamilton said:
“We are continuing to see reports of courier fraud across the county and would urge residents to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious.”
