Woman jailed following assault in Ellesmere Port

On Saturday 19 October 2024, police were called regarding concerns for the welfare of a woman who had been assaulted by Wheadon in Ellesmere Port. The pair had been friends.

Between 17 and 19 October 2024, Wheadon had assaulted the victim, subjecting her to a prolonged attack which caused eight fractured ribs and severe swelling and bruising.

Hot drinks had been poured over the victim, and she was repeatedly kicked, stamped on, punched and slapped. Cigarettes had also been put out on her body, and she had been burned with the hot metal of a lighter. The victim was threatened with further violence if she did not comply with Wheadon.

Wheadon was subsequently arrested and in interview stated she was ‘shocked’ that the victim had accused her of causing her injuries. Following enquiries, she was charged with the offences.

Detective Constable Demi Brownrigg said:

“I welcome the significant custodial sentence which has been handed to Wheadon. She embarked on a violent and sustained attack on the victim in this case, causing horrendous injuries and an immense amount of physical and emotional pain.

“Wheadon’s vicious behaviour is even more despicable in light of the fact she was friends with the victim and should have been someone she could trust.

“Hopefully, with Wheadon now behind bars, the victim can get some amount of closure after this horrific incident.”
