Winsford man jailed after filming himself with illegal drugs and weapons

A man from Winsford who filmed himself posing with illegal drugs has been jailed.

Alfie Drummond appeared at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday 30 September where he was sentenced to 32 months in prison.

The 23-year-old of School Road, Wharton, previously admitted being concerned in the supply of class A drugs (cocaine) and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

The court heard how the investigation began in early 2025 after officers became aware of a mobile phone number which was being used to sell illegal drugs in the Winsford area.

The mobile had been linked to a number of flare messages which had been issued advertising the sale of cocaine.

Following enquiries, officers identified Drummond as the owner of the phone, and he was subsequently arrested at his home address on Tuesday 28 January 2025.

During a search of his bedroom officers recovered two mobile phones, a small amount of Cannabis, a 69cm Samurai Sword and an extendable baton.

A number of videos were also found on his mobile phone which showed Drummond handling large amounts of illegal drugs and cash.

There were also videos of a large collection of weapons spread out over his bed.

Following the sentencing Police Constable Ed Whalley, of Northwich Proactive CID, said:

“Drummond wasn’t the brightest drug dealer, literally filming himself posing with the illegal drugs and his ill-gotten gains in his own bedroom.

“His videos, along with the catalogue of evidence gathered by the team here at Northwich, left him with no option but to admit his guilt.

“I welcome the sentence that has been handed to him by the court, and I hope that it acts as a warning to others.

“Drug dealing has a hugely detrimental impact on our communities, and we’re committed to doing all we can to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

“While Drummond is now behind bars, our fight against illegal drugs remains ongoing, and I would urge anyone with any information to get in touch via 101 or on the police website.”
