Creamfields drugs dealer jailed

A man from Bolton who was caught dealing drugs at a music festival in Cheshire has been jailed.

Noah Boateng appeared at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday 14 January, where he was sentenced to 28 months in prison.

The 20-year-old of Shady Lane, Bromley Cross, Bolton, had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.

During the hearing, the court heard how at around 1.40pm on Saturday 24 August 2024, officers were alerted to reports that Boateng had been detained by security staff at the festival on suspicion of dealing drugs.

21 bags of cocaine, 8 bags of ketamine, 30 MDMA tablets, one 2CB tablet, and one mixed tablet. The drugs had an estimated value of £1,440.

Boateng was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drugs offences. During questioning, he admitted possessing drugs, but queried the quantity, and claimed that they were all for personal use.

Despite his claims, he was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession with intent to supply ketamine.

Boateng later pleaded guilty to all the charges.

Following the sentencing, Police Constable Tony Icke said:

“I welcome the sentence handed to Boateng and I hope that it acts as a warning to others who are thinking about bringing illegal drugs to Cheshire.

 “Every year before the festival we work hard to ensure that all attendees are fully aware of the consequences they face if they bring illegal drugs onto the site. They are also given ample opportunities to dispose of the drugs in surrender bins before going through the search process.

 “Yet despite all the warnings, Boateng still came thinking that he would be able to make a quick buck selling illegal drugs. As a result, he’s now behind bars.”
