Family of man who died following collision pay tribute

The family of a man who died following a collision near Chester have paid tribute to him.
At around 3.50am on Thursday 21 May, police were called to reports of a collision on Hoole Bridge, Chester.
Officers attended and found the collision involved a cyclist and a silver Toyota Yaris.
Sadly, the cyclist, Lee Stallwood, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lee’s family said:
“Lee was tragically taken on the 21st of May 2026. He was a much-loved son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, warmth and sense of humour touched the lives of many.
“He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Lee will be gone but will never be forgotten.
“His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. We as a family need time and space to grieve for Lee.
“Rest in peace, Lee Stallwood.”

Detectives investigating the collision have since charged a man.
Nathan Howe, of Thorndale Road, Sunderland, was arrested on Thursday 21 May.
The 32-year-old has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle and failing to stop after a road accident, and driving a vehicle involved in a road accident and failing to report it.
Howe has been bailed to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 19 June.
A 35-year-old man from Sunderland was also arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail.
