Man jailed for drugs offences in Runcorn

A man has been jailed for three years for his involvement in supplying cocaine and cannabis in Runcorn.
Jayson Tierney, of Worcester Court, Runcorn, was sentenced to 36 months at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 10 September.
The 30-year-old had pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis in the Runcorn area of Cheshire.
The case started in December 2024 when officers dealing with an unrelated matter at an address in Russell Road, Runcorn, smelled cannabis and discovered a rucksack stashed behind wooden boarding in a communal cupboard.
The rucksack contained a large quantity of cannabis with a street value of between £3,140 and £3,510. Forensic enquiries found that Tierney’s fingerprints were on the bags of drugs located inside the rucksack.
Tierney was also attributed to a mobile phone number which was sending messages facilitating the sale of cocaine and cannabis in the local area after his bank account details were found on the graft phone.
Financial checks showed that deposits totalling over £8,700 had been made into his bank account over a four-month period linked to his criminal behaviour.
In September 2025, Tierney was arrested for being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis. He answered no comment to all questions put to him by officers during the interview, but eventually pleaded guilty to the offences when he later appeared at court.

“Tierney is an individual that has been a blight on the community of Runcorn for a prolonged period of time, causing misery to local residents.
“Tierney thought he could run a drug dealing enterprise without consequence, but he was wrong and is now behind bars.
