What are Police doing to address a potential increase in violence within the night time economy related to the World Cup.
Action taken:
Ahead of the World Cup, officers worked with Pubwatch and licensed premises to address concerns around potential increased violence and disorder within the night-time economy. Officers provided advice to venues, including those not usually showing live sport, and highlighted any temporary licensing requirements. On Friday 19th June, we conducted a joint high-visibility operation with Cheshire east, visiting licensed premises, engaging with staff and patrolling town centre streets. The proactive partnership approach helped support businesses, reassure the public and promote a safe and enjoyable environment throughout the tournament.
